Watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat!

Rocky and Bullwinkle were a little before my time, so I was pleasantly surprised to see the noble educational intentions that are apparent in some of the early episodes. There are little school lessons in each episode, ranging from an encounter with Benjamin Franklin to the complete reading of a poem by Robert Louis Stevenson.

At the same time, the almost obsessive occupation with bombs, and the dastardly Russians Boris and Natasha, are an unintentional lesson about the political climate of the day.

Even though Bullwinkle is the character who has managed to permeate our culture, the show actually was originally titled "Rocky and His Friends," and focused on "Rocket the Squirrel."

It's nice to see that this little bit of American history is now available for our viewing pleasure on Hulu.
