Best Horror Movie: Official Nominees

We are down to the five official nominees for "Best Horror Movie!"

Hulu Review readers and the general public can still cast their votes in the comments section of this post. The total audience vote is equal to the vote of one panel member. In addition, the top vote-getter will be recognized on Awards Night.

Let's see what struck fear into the hearts of panelists and voting audience members everywhere:

The most modern movie on our nominee list, this zombie-plague flick masterfully interweaves action, gore, and chill-inducing suspense.

Christine
Stephen King's breakout novel about a haunted car marks one of the first in a long line of attempts at adapting his work for the big screen. Made in 1983, but it smells of the seventies.

A thinking person's horror movie? This William S. Burroughs novel adaptation meets the definition of a horror movie by including gore and murder, but it breaks the mold of the genre.

The first of two remakes on this list, this is a hugely successful directorial effort by John Carpenter, with a rampaging monster wreaking havoc at an isolated arctic research station.

"The calls are coming from inside the house!" has become one of the most famous suspense movie lines in pop culture, and this remake uses Camilla Belle to evoke the sense of mounting doom that made the original famous.
